While relatively light on story, the trailer brings back our favorite three lordlings Edelgard, Dimitri, and Claude along with their teacher Byleth for a new, stunning Musou game packed with enemies to pummel. Nintendo also gave us a release date of June 24th. The announcement came during Wednesday's Nintendo Direct with a new trailer showing off the heroes of the latest mainline outing fighting off loads of enemies in stylish fashion and a new antagonist for Byleth to face down. Instead, Nintendo is once again tapping the well of Fire Emblem: Three Houses for a new Warriors-style game in partnership with Omega Force: Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes. The trailer also shows Edelgard's retainer Hubert sporting a new design, hinting that other students will also appear in some capacity.Rejoice Fire Emblem fans, a new game in the franchise is on its way, though not of the typical variety. Only Edelgard, Dimitri and Claude have been shown fighting, but female Byleth will almost certainly be another option. Like other musou spinoffs like Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity and Persona 5 Strikers, will likely feature a variety of playable characters from the source material. RELATED: How Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes Could Improve Upon Its Predecessor Interestingly, Byleth's Sword of the Creator and Edelgard's Aymr are not shown, though Dimitri and Claude are seen with their Heroes' Relics in the trailer and on the box art. So far, male Byleth is nowhere to be seen, though female Byleth shows up in the trailer (sporting blue and green hair at different points) and is featured on the game's box art alongside a new character with purple hair. During a clip of the two fighting, the trailer shows Jeralt (Byleth's father who is killed during Three Houses), and Sothis mentions revenge, which may mean the mysterious newcomer and Jeralt's killers are connected. A brief shot of the game's War Map shows a mission where players will have to conquer Garreg Mach Monastery by defeating the Church of Serios' army.poiīyleth's role in Three Hopes also remains unclear. The announcement trailer shows Dimitri and Claude fighting alongside one another, though Edelgard and Dimitri seem to be fighting each other in another moment. Claude's line "Now that I know, I won't make the same mistake again" could indicate that time travel or alternate universes play a role in the game, allowing the characters to make different decisions that result in a better outcome.

It's possible that the game will provide a new route in which the house leaders work together instead of fighting one another. The trailer shows the three house leaders - Edelgard, Dimitri and Claude - with their original design, as well as brand new ones. These bear a stronger resemblance to their Academy Phase appearances than their post-time skip looks, could mean Three Hopes is set during the five-year long gap. So far, not much has been said about Three Hopes' story, but the footage seen so far provides some clues. Since Three Houses has four drastically different storylines depending on who the player sides with, it's likely Three Hopes won't make a specific one canon and instead provide another path.
